Did You Know
EDI provides a comprehensive approach to recovery from addiction - Recovery Works. While addiction is recognized as a chronic condition, most traditional treatment and support services only address the condition using an acute-care approach. Through it's Recovery Works module, EDI recognizes the need to maintain appropriate support services over a long period of time to address the chronic nature of addiction and to recognize that recovery is a process, not an event. |

| Medallions - Inspirations You Can Hold In The Palm of Your Hand -- Since their inception in the 1940s, medallions have commemorated special occasions for millions of people in recovery. Originally crafted in 1973 by an innovative AA member named Bill W., today's distinctive medals are universal symbols of sobriety and 12 step recovery programs. |

We are always in need of volunteers for our many events at The Recovery Center and the Reading Facility. Volunteering at an EDI event is fun and helps us bring these events to the recovering community, at low or often NO cost. Volunteering is also a way to network with other people in the recovery community and to reach out to newcomers in recovery.

EDI's Supportive Housing Program dates back to the organization's early days on Walnut Street, where six rooms were provided for people in early recovery who lacked a safe place to live. Since then many changes and improvements have taken place.
